Your questions, our answers

Booking an apartment you've never seen, in a country you won't reach for another three weeks, calls for clear answers. Here they are, straight.

Booking from abroad

How do I book if I live in France, Italy or the United States?

You choose the apartment, you enter your dates on its page, and you receive written confirmation with the exact cost of the stay. No trip, no middleman. If you'd rather speak to someone, the WhatsApp button opens a conversation with a person in Dakar, not a bot.

Do I have to pay in full when I book?

No. Each apartment states on its page the deposit needed to hold the dates; the balance is paid on arrival or before you move in, whichever suits you. The deposit is always shown before you confirm anything.

Which payment methods do you accept?

Wave and Orange Money for payments from Senegal, Visa or Mastercard from abroad, and cash on site. A bank transfer is possible for long stays — just ask us for the details.

Can I cancel?

Cancellation terms are specific to each apartment and set out in black and white on its page, before you book. We never change the rules after the fact. If something serious comes up, write to us: we look to move the dates before cancelling.

Are there hidden service fees in your prices?

No. The total shown when you enquire covers the nights, the end-of-stay cleaning and any long-stay discount. There's no platform commission, because you book directly with the manager.

On arrival and during your stay

The airport is a long way from Dakar. Can you pick me up?

Yes. Blaise Diagne airport is around fifty kilometres from central Dakar — about an hour's drive depending on traffic. We offer a meet-and-greet: someone waits at the exit with your name, drives you to the apartment and hands you the keys. Ask for it when you book.

My flight lands at 3 a.m. Is that a problem?

Not at all — it's the most common case on flights from Europe. Just give us the flight number: the keys are handed over when you actually land, not during office hours.

What happens if the power or water goes out?

Outages do happen in Dakar, and nobody serious will tell you otherwise. Our apartments are chosen in buildings equipped accordingly, and each listing states what it has. If something goes wrong during your stay, you have a number that answers — that's the difference between a managed rental and one left to fend for itself.

Is cleaning included?

End-of-stay cleaning is included in the total shown. On longer stays, regular visits can be added; linen is provided and changed at the same time.

Is there a decent internet connection?

Apartments marked "Wi-Fi" have a fixed line, not just a phone hotspot. If you're coming to work remotely, tell us: we'll point you to the properties where the connection has been checked for professional use.

Long stays

How long before the rate goes down?

The nightly rate falls in steps: by the week, by the month, then by the quarter. It's worked out automatically — the site shows you the discount applied before you ask for anything, with no need to haggle.

I'm coming to work for several months. Can I get an invoice?

Yes — an invoice in your name or your company's is issued on request, so an employer can cover the accommodation or you can claim it as an assignment expense.

Is a deposit required?

For stays of several months, yes, and the amount is stated before signing. It's returned after the check-out inventory, less any damage — damage observed, not assumed.

Does a long-stay apartment work out cheaper than a hotel?

Considerably, from the second week onwards. You also get a kitchen, a washing machine and real living space, which changes the budget of a multi-week stay entirely.

Owners and management

I have an empty apartment in Dakar and I live abroad. Can you manage it?

That's exactly what we do. You hand us the property; we handle the listings, check-ins and check-outs, cleaning, day-to-day upkeep and collecting payment. You receive a report and your income, without having to rely on an overstretched relative.

How do I put my property forward?

The site has a submission form: you describe the property, add photos, and we come back to you. Every property is visited and approved before being published — that's what assures travellers that what they see actually exists.

Will my property be published automatically?

No. Nothing appears on the site without being checked. A submission creates a pending entry, never a live listing.
